John 4:3-29
This is dedicated to every woman God has had to deliver in private.
This passage of scripture may be one of the most preached passages in the Bible. It is the story of the Samaritan woman Jesus met at the well. In fact she is affectionately known as the woman at the well. However, after a recent conversation with her she has urged me to tell you she has moved on.
This woman, who I have named “Well-ilhelmina” has an amazing story. On a routine journey to the well and at what must have seemed like the lowest point of her life she meets the savior of the world. And after only one conversation with Jesus her life is forever changed. Hallelujah!
The thing I appreciate most about this woman’s story is that Jesus delivers her in private. Unlike some of the others we have read about throughout the Bible (i.e. the woman with the issue of blood, the woman with the spirit of infirmity etc.) this woman’s deliverance was not taped before a live studio audience. Rather it was done in a private meeting; obviously orchestrated by God. Not even the disciples were there! This was done on purpose.
God in the lives of his people will sometimes use a private deliverance to produce within us a public ministry. This woman went from being the “talk of the town” to talking to the town about a man who possessed the power to change her life! This must have messed up her critics.
In truth the well was only meant to be the place of her deliverance. It was the place she visited when she was thirsty, dissatisfies and unfulfilled. If this woman were here today I believe she would say to us…Don’t look for me at the well I have moved on. I have been delivered and I’m no longer thirsty for the things of this world.
Don’t look for me at the well. No, I have moved on. Did you not see my bucket? I left it there to let you know I won’t be coming back. Once I took a drink from the Master’s well I became more than just some random woman at the well. Please don't get it twisted. From now on you should address me as “the woman with a well”.
Verse 14 Jesus said “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst but the water I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Welcome to My Blog
I decided to create this Blog after talking with a friend and spending time with some of the most talented women I have ever had the opportunity to meet in one place. The most encouraging thing was the authentic support I received from these women. They inspired me to put my love of writing to use as I prepare to author my first book. Because this Blog was birthed out of encouragement it is my goal to write articles which will inspire, encourage and thrust you into a deeper place with God. I look forward to our time together and sincerely pray you will be blessed.
