Ephesians 4:17-24 Romans 6:6
All one needs to do is listen to the top ten songs being played on the radio to know that breaking up is hard to do. The central theme for some of today's most popular movies, television shows, books and theatrical productions involves the challenges men and women face when met with the task of ending a relationship. Regardless, whether the relationship was good or bad many still find it difficult to let go.
"Fatal Attraction" was one of the top grossing movies in the 90's. It portrayed a woman who became a psychotic murderer simply because she could not accept the end of her relationship with a married man. The relationship dipicted in this film should be classified as toxic. However, while many were quick to judge and label this woman as being mentally unstable many of us display similar behaviors when confronted with breaking up with our old man, lifestyle and nature.
The Apostle Paul in the Book of Ephesians 4:17-24 instructs the believer to put off the old man concerning the former conversation. He further explains that the old man is corrupt. The old man represents an old and ungodly lifestyle, ungodly relationships, soul ties, and ungodly conversations. You get the picture. He writes be renewed in the spirit of your mind; put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. In other words...You gotta break up with your old man!
I know what you are thinking...you've been together for a very long time. So you don't know what to say or how to end it right? Has anyone ever tried ending a relationship with you and tried to let you down easy to soften the blow? Oh come on! You know the lines and the lies...it goes something like this. "It's not you it's me. I'm just not ready to be in a serious relationship. Let's just be friends. Yes, you know those lines right? Well, don't you dare use any of them!
When breaking up with your old man you can't afford to be nice. You have to tell him exactly how you feel about him. There can be no beating around the bush with this one. Cut through the chase and give it to him straight forward. After all this relationship with your old man is toxic. It's deadly and it will ultimately cause your demise. So instead of using those lines try these. It's over! It's just not working for me! Your not my type! I'm in love with someone else! Trust me it works.
I John 2:15-16 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (V. 16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Welcome to My Blog
I decided to create this Blog after talking with a friend and spending time with some of the most talented women I have ever had the opportunity to meet in one place. The most encouraging thing was the authentic support I received from these women. They inspired me to put my love of writing to use as I prepare to author my first book. Because this Blog was birthed out of encouragement it is my goal to write articles which will inspire, encourage and thrust you into a deeper place with God. I look forward to our time together and sincerely pray you will be blessed.
